“You’re creating some fashion fave moments on IG from grabs to steals! How did your love for fashion start?”
–My love for fashion definitely started by watching my mother get ready for work in the 80’s. There was no one more glam then my mom! I even remember the smell of her lipgloss! She put so much thought into her “looks” and I wanted to be just like that growing up.
“Describe your personal style?”
“Definitely “comfy-affordable dope fly”! I live to be comfortable. I’m from New York where a white tee is idolized. Give me a tee, perfect fitting jeans and an amazing heel and I’m in heaven. I dress for my body type so I’m not big on trends. I listen to (and most importantly) and pay attention to what fits and looks good on me”.
“What’s your most memorable fashion moment thus far?”
“Shiiitttttt!!!!!! Honestly I don’t think I’ve had one yet . To me my looks are so similar that to pick one over the other is bias. My proudest fashion moment would have to be my birthday outfit this year because I hand picked the fabric and design everything from beginning to end. To know that I envisioned the look, felt the fabric put it together and it came out perfect was a dope moment for me.”
“We love to ask our fashion greats “What’s in your bag?” What’s 5 must have items in your bag that you can not leave home without?”
OMGGGGG!!!!! This question excites me! Okay.
1) my planner ( highlighters included) live and die for an organized life.
2)my iPhone-SELF EXPLANATORY
3)my makeup/hygiene bag!!!! I live for a clean beat face and a clean kitty 🐱! You can find MAC lipstick, vitamins, panty liners and gum in that holy grail bag.
4)Crystals-I’m a believer in energy so you catch a couple in my bag
5)a backup phone charger. I’m lying 3 phone chargers!
“If you had a chance to work any celebrity on a fashion collaboration, who would it be and why?”
“Definitely Tracee Ellis Ross! She epitomizes my definition of grown beautiful black woman magic! Her style is unmatched and her aura is impeccable ! She is a career woman who doesn’t neglect self-maintenance, she lives for a look and isn’t ashamed to be an unapologetic black woman. I would like to do a suit line/nightlife line with her.”
“A daughter, a sister, amazing girlfriend, friend, a 9-5”er”, a entrepreneur, fashion guru, a world traveler, designer, a fashion content editor, is just some of the many hats you wear! How do you find a balance between family and managing a successful career?”
“Honestly it’s an everyday juggling match for me. A lot of the time I am overwhelmed but I take a lot of notes of people who came before me. I write things down and stick to them. I try my best to live up to my word and if I don’t I am quick to admit that I failed. I am lucky enough to have a supportive village around me who is understanding and respectful of my grind.”
“What can we expect from “DayInTheLifeOfCrys” in the near fashion future?”
”You can expect a kimono and t-shirt dress line! I can’t believe I am saying that out loud. It’s time to put my vision to life and to see it on other people.”
