Justabrooklyngyrl’s New York’s Fashion Week Recap!

Temperature in NYC is slowly dropping and fall is right around the corner. It’s that time of the year where fashion designers gear up and showcase their winter collection in the big apple. With so many incredible designers to choose from the spring 2016 runway, here’s justabrooklyngyrl’s top five NYFW designers collections!

Givenchy

Riccardo Tisci created an NYC fashion show experience like no other!  Not only was the show on September 11TH with the World Trade Center glowing in the distance, the show was in true New York fashion and was opened up to over 800 non fashion insiders who won tickets online.

Here are some of justabrooklyngyrl’s fav Givenchy looks….

Pyer Moss

Known for the famous army fatigue leather worn by celebs such as Rihanna Usher and Beyonce, Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean-Raymond fights racism and speaks out on police brutality with his Spring 2016 collection. He sat down with family members of victims of police violence and delivered a powerful show like no other. While the models walked the runway video clips played on the screen with the words “open your eyes”.

My fav item from this collection was the military inspired jacket worth the words “breathe” written on the back!

Banana Republic

Dubbed the “New BR,” the spring 2016 collection is right on the money! Every item is relatable for the everyday woman and her day to day looks and will have you wanting every single look! It makes you actually want to wear work clothes. From mixing quirky prints to my fav the red mens inspired suit, Banana Republic collection is more feminine and fun!

Jason Wu

The love of fringe is back thanks to Mr. Wu. Slacked back buns and bright red lips was the trend at the Jason Wu show this week, and ladies you know how we feel about a red lip! The fitted silhouettes and classic pieces gave me an 1950’s,60’s feel. Jason Wu had the best overall look in my opinion from the accessories to the makeup!

Mara Hoffman

The Willie Nelson inspired runway showcased western themed and blue sky prints. Her Bohemian inspired collection was filled with vivid colors, prints and youthful silhouettes for every women size. The collection overall gave this happy feeling no clouds type of feel!
